About me

Daniel Acosta

I've been teaching Spanish since 2006.

Over the years I've learned that there's no single way to learn a language: each student has their own pace, their own interests, and their own relationship with the language.

My classes adapt to that. Laburo through listening, observation and dialogue, combining conversation, grammar content and materials that make sense for each person. I care about creating a warm, trustworthy and pressure-free learning space, where Spanish develops naturally.

I deeply enjoy teaching Spanish, sharing my culture and, above all, listening to the life stories of those who come to the language. For me, teaching is not just a job: it's an encounter.

Academic background

I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Hispanic Studies from Lyon 2 University (France) and a Higher Diploma in Spanish Teaching and Management from FLACSO.

During my studies I deepened my knowledge of Argentine literature, bilingualism and heritage language, areas that continue to shape the way I teach today.

I'm also certified by the Instituto Cervantes as a DELE Examiner at levels A1, A2, B1 and B2.

Professional experience

I began teaching Spanish to foreigners in Buenos Aires, and since then have taught in various contexts and countries. I lived and worked in France, where I taught at institutions such as Lyon 2 University, ESDES and ENTPE, and also taught during a trip through New Zealand.

Between 2013 and 2016 I coordinated literary writing workshops in northern Argentina.

Later I spent several years at a private language school, where I also trained teachers.

Since 2022 I've been dedicated to teaching Spanish online and in-person on an independent basis, primarily to adult students of all levels who come to the language through travel, culture, tango or personal interest.

A little more about me

  • I drink mate, but also coffee in Buenos Aires cafes.
  • Me copa el tango (dancing a bit, listening a lot), theatre, concerts and cultural life. I practice yoga, read, write and have a passion for music from around the world.
  • At home we speak "frañol": my partner is French.
  • I enjoy football (I support Boca), asados with los pibes
  • And yes, I like wine too.
